Business Law

BUSINESS LAW IS OUR PASSION

We believe lawyers should be deal makers not deal breakers but we have the skills and experience when necessary to step into the corporate ring despite being clothed in a suit. Our corporate legal team provides sound, practical, timely and strategic legal guidance for businesses. We help you understand and manage risk, navigate the legalities of operating a business, and plan for future growth.

At Open Door Law, we recognize that no two businesses are the same. Whether you are a startup or a mature global business, we have the expertise to be a critical advisor so that you can anticipate change, create opportunities and do what you do best, with the same passion we have for our work.

We provide a full roster of business legal services and have helped our clients with business formations, mergers and acquisitions, tax strategies, commercial leasing, commercial financing, employment issues and key and corporate board governance advice.

Whether you retain us on a stand-alone issue or want to work with us for all your legal needs, we have the knowledge and capabilities to support your current and changing needs. We can work with you on an ad-hoc basis, on an ongoing basis, or where the time and resources match, we can even be seconded as temporary or part-time in-house legal counsel.

Our Areas of Work

Registered and Records Office Services

All BC companies must have a registered and records office in BC. It is common to use the office of the lawyer as the records office as lawyers are skilled to ensure what documents may be disclosed in a review and what may be private.
